Winter is the time of year where everyone is sick. Last year was the first time I found this MAGICALLY drink called The Medicine Ball. For those of you that don’t know…this tea is sooo good and works! I order one anytime I start feeling sick and it helped! After a few months I found that I would go to Starbucks twice a day. Wowza did that add up to a lot of money. Well I quickly realized that it just didn’t make financial sense. So I decided to look up if they had an at home version and then I found the exact recipe that Starbucks uses. BINGO!!
INGREDIENTS FOR STARBUCKS MEDICINE BALL
#1 TEAVANA JADE CITRUS MINT TEA [Buy together from Amazon here]
#2 TEAVANA PEACH TRANQUILITY TEA [Buy here as well.]
#3 LEMONADE (you can use any, but this is the one that I’ve been using)
#4 HONEY – I don’t use honey but it’s definitely an option to help with your throat if your coughing a lot or even if you just like honey.
MEDICINE BALL AT HOME RECIPE
It is truly so easy and quick to make. It doesn’t matter what cup you use but I use the Starbucks 16oz. reusable ones. I do half lemonade and half water and put it in a pot and warm them up together. Once it is hot and boiling I take the Jade Citrus Tea and the Peach Tranquility Tea bags and put them in the lemonade and water mixer. Here is when you can add the honey if you wanted. Now you will be sipping medicine balls all day long from your couch and not the drive through!
#1 – Heat up 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of lemonade. (You can decide how much of each you want). A lot is taste preference!
#2 – Add your tea bags and hot water together! Let tea bags steep.
#3 – Add in honey! [Good for a sore throat and sweetens it a bit!]
#4 – Also in the Starbucks order they ask if you want a pump of peppermint. I personally don’t care for the peppermint syrup so I admit it from my drink. Peppermint is great though to open up any stuffy noses or just to help breathe a little better. If I needed it I would use my essential oils and only do a tiny bit.
This is definitely pretty darn close to the real thing!!! Even if you aren’t a tea drinker, I bet you love the Medicine Ball. Enjoy.
